Instructor: David Melvin, PLS
David is a professional land surveyor with over 40 years of experience in the surveying and mapping profession, as a land surveying consultant in the first 20 years, and as a continuing education provider to professional land surveyors and professional land development engineers for the past 20 years. He graduated from the University of Florida in 1981 with a bachelor’s degree emphasizing land surveying techniques and practices. David’s chosen areas of expertise are land and water boundaries, floodplain mapping, jurisdictional wetlands, land surveyors’ regulatory issues, and continuing education of professional land surveyors and engineers.
Finding Jurisdictional Wetlands in the Field is a six hour live presentation webinar about identifying the presents of jurisdictional wetlands within the landscape. The webinar will focus on what jurisdictional wetlands are and how to indentify them in the field. The Webinar is designed to address the current trend in land development regulations toward stricter protection of the environment. Observational skills taught will be helpful to land professionals such as surveyors, engineers, and planners in advising land owners and developers.
